Family backgound - 2nd eldest of 4 brothers (no sisters!). My father was a vicar in the Church of England for 35 years. My mother was a Latin teacher and then housewife.

Musical Background - had piano lessons for a year at the age of 5. Then got my first guitar at about 9 or 10. Had 2 years folk guitar lessons. Got my first electric guitar at about 13. Had more piano lessons from age 14 to 16.

First record bought - a collection of Western movie themes was his first credible record.

Most influential album - "Moonmadness" by Camel was probably the most I listened to.

My top three bassists - Jaco Pastorius (Weather Report), Richard Sinclair (ex-Camel) and Ralphe Armstrong (Jean-Luc Ponty's band).
